How do I get a homeless outreach team to help me? Having mental health crisis and people on streets laugh at it and won’t help and have shelter trauma

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>How do I get people to call an outreach team on me or get to a psych ward without insurance ? I am new to this and it’s been a month and can’t take it. I need case manager and tried so hard to get it and everyone treats me like subhuman scum. I had a job and masters degree and never thought this would happen to me. Have asthma and they put me in shelter with sick people and can’t stay. The beds hurt worse than sleeping in street and am so weak. I don’t look homeless so nobody helps me and don’t exhibit addictive or anti social behaviors and feel to much shame to hold a sign of beg. Anyway I get some money in disability check so can eat and don’t need to beg.</p> <p>When going to the shelter they ignored my immediate needs even thought my lung condition could be life or death and refused to give me case management. I am calling coalition of the homeless and get they are overworked and some homeless people are mean to them but I am not and don’t deserve the abuse and neglect. </p> <p>It’s worse than I even imagined and people on the streets beg me for money even though I am homeless too. Some fellow homeless people are violent and scare me. </p> <p>I ask on the street and people refuse to call emergency outreach on me. This puts my life at risk and get it’s not their responsibility but if in their position I would always help. I get told to get a job when I just had a pet sitting gig last week. Many people born in the city are more helpful and many rich people who have not been here long look at my in disgust.</p> <p>I am so weak and tired and trying not to die. I may need psych ward despite never having severe mental health issues in my life. It’s raining and cold and understand why some homeless do hard drugs. I want to get wasted in a bar with the last bit of money I have to numb the pain.</p> <p>Are there any kind New Yorkers that will tell me how to get a DHS , religious or non profit outreach team to help.
