Jury Duty questions

Does anyone here know if you can bring phone with you when you report to the jury duty (Eastern District Federal), or should you leave it at home or in the car? I read the instruction where it says any electronic devices are not allowed in assembly room and court please don’t bring them, but is there anyway to check in a phone upon arrival (because it’s needed for commute)? And do you need to call the hotline everyday after 5pm (including weekends), or just weekdays, to check if you need to go in next day for two-week period?
