The Met or Frick

I’m staying in Midtown near Bryant Park and I have two Broadway shows booked for Friday & Saturday night (Proof and Chess, I can’t wait!) I want to visit an art museum on Saturday and I’m debating between the Met -huge and iconic - or the Frick which sounds so unique being in an old mansion. I’m a big fan of impressionist art. I’ve never visited a NYC art museum before. Is this one of those go big or go home things where I have to go the Met?
