Feast of San Gennaro — 100th Anniversary
Centennial edition of Little Italy's most famous festival, honoring San Gennaro of Naples (first held in 1926 by Neapolitan immigrants). Eleven days and eleven blocks of sausage and peppers, zeppole, cannoli, live music, religious processions, the cannoli eating contest, and a Grand Procession on Saturday, September 19 at 2 PM from the Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood. Also a parallel Bronx Little Italy feast on Arthur Avenue.
