Upper West Side dispensaries were scarce until 2024. As of 2026 there are seven licensed shops on the state's list between West 66th Street and West 99th Street, from a jewelry-showroom counter a block from Central Park to the dispensary the state named its 600th. For adults 21+ who live on the West Side or are staying there, here is where each one is, what the state's records say, and how the rules work.
The neighborhood itself runs from West 59th Street to West 110th Street, between Central Park and the Hudson. The licensed shops follow the commercial avenues: Broadway, Amsterdam and the side streets off Columbus.
The licensed shops, south to north
Every shop below appears as an active licensed adult-use retailer in the Office of Cannabis Management's license data as of 2026. Hours are each shop's own listing and change, so check on the day.
Flower Power Dispensers, 22 West 66th Street
The Upper West Side's first licensed dispensary, opened in April 2024 on a residential block a short walk from Central Park. Its own site lists hours of 8 AM to 11 PM Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to midnight on Friday, 9 AM to midnight on Saturday and 9 AM to 11 PM on Sunday, and it sells in store or by delivery.
Just a Little Higher, 157 West 72nd Street
The neighborhood's second licensed shop opened on April 27, 2024 near Amsterdam Avenue, in a storefront that once housed a Goodwill. Its site lists 9 AM to 10 PM Sunday through Thursday and 9 AM to 11:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. The company runs several other New York locations.
Good Company, 2273A Broadway
One of the newer West Side counters, open since June 2026 by the state's records.
Superfly Dispensary, 57 West 86th Street
A side-street shop off Central Park West, open since May 2025.
The Flowery, 2465 Broadway
Between West 91st and 92nd Streets. It opened in January 2025 as the Upper West Side's third licensed dispensary and the first in the northern half of the neighborhood, in a former SoulCycle storefront. It was the company's fifth New York City location.
Pure Blossoms, 716 Amsterdam Avenue
Between 94th and 95th Streets. The Office of Cannabis Management marked its opening on March 31, 2026 as New York's 600th licensed adult-use dispensary, timed to the fifth anniversary of the state's legalization law, when 623 licensed dispensaries were operating statewide. Its owner grew up on the block. The state's records list hours from 9 AM daily, running to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday.
The Sanctuary Garden, 2610 Broadway
Between 98th and 99th Streets, opened in September 2025. Its registered hours run 8 AM to midnight every day, the longest on the West Side.
The Upper West Side hub collects the site's neighborhood coverage, and the dispensary directory lists every licensed shop in Manhattan.
Telling a licensed shop from the rest
The West Side still has smoke shops selling cannabis-looking products without a license, sometimes across the street from a licensed counter. The difference is checkable in under a minute. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov: every licensed dispensary must post the state's Dispensary Verification Tool near its main entrance. OCM's retailer finder at buylegal.cannabis.ny.gov lists each licensed location, and licensed products carry the state's universal symbol and a QR code that links to the lab results.
Buying: ID and limits
- Adults 21+ only. Staff inspect a valid photo ID before any sale: a driver's license, a non-driver ID, IDNYC, a passport from any country or a U.S. military ID.
- Daily limits. Up to three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrated cannabis, which includes vapes and edibles.
- On edibles, start low, go slow. Labels list milligrams per piece, and budtenders on the West Side tend to start the conversation with formats and package sizes.
Delivery on the West Side
Several West Side shops deliver, and the rules are the state's:
- Prepaid only. Online or by phone. No cash to the courier.
- ID and a signature at the door. The buyer, or another adult 21+ the buyer names, shows a valid ID.
- Homes, short-term stays and private businesses. Not to parks, public buildings or anyone in a car.
- During store hours. An order can be placed late, but it is filled only while the shop is open.
A delivery service that doesn't trace back to a shop on the state's list isn't licensed.
Parks, plainly
The Upper West Side is bracketed by two of the city's great parks, Central Park on one side and Riverside Park on the other, and both are public space. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and that includes the parks, the benches along Broadway's malls and the steps of every brownstone that faces the street. Buildings and leases set their own smoking rules too.
What it means for your errand
Seven licensed shops in about 33 blocks means most West Siders are within a short walk of one. The choice comes down to hours and location: the Sanctuary Garden for a late errand, Flower Power and Just a Little Higher in the 60s and 70s, The Flowery and Pure Blossoms in the 90s.
