Since May, New York City's licensed map has filled in at the edges as much as in the middle. A community-minded shop on the Upper West Side, a narrow storefront on East Ninth Street, a Harlem outpost of a Bronx family business, a first counter on the Inwood stretch of Broadway, and new doors in the northeast Bronx and on Staten Island. For adults 21+, the short version: more legal options, closer to home, in more boroughs than a year ago.
Every shop below is listed as active and operating in the Office of Cannabis Management's license data, which records the date each storefront opened to the public, and appears on OCM's dispensary location verification list. Where a news outlet or the shop's own site adds detail, that is noted. Brooklyn has its own edition and its own list; this one covers Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island.
The new shops, in order of opening
Victory Dispensary, 3653 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx
Opened in May 2026 in Throggs Neck. News 12 covered neighborhood debate over the store in April, when ownership said it planned to open before July; it beat that target. It holds a CAURD license, the state's first-round retail license class. Directory listing.
Good Company, 2273A Broadway, Upper West Side
Opened in June 2026 between 81st and 82nd Streets, in a space West Side Rag reports was once a pilates studio and a Mattress Firm. The owners pitch it as a neighborhood hub, with record-listening sessions, readings and book swaps on the calendar. Its site lists pickup and delivery, plus shelves organized around women-led, Black-led and veteran-led brands, and OCM lists it as a social and economic equity licensee. Directory listing. More on the area: Upper West Side.
Tru Cannabis, 256 Manhattan Avenue
Opened in June 2026 on Manhattan Avenue, in the 10026 ZIP code that also takes in Central Harlem. It is another CAURD licensee. Directory listing.
Hibernica Central Park, 111 Central Park North
Opened in June 2026 on West 110th Street, facing the park. It is the Manhattan sibling of Hibernica's Pelham Bay store in the Bronx, which amNY describes as a family-owned business; the Harlem location held its grand opening in August. Its site lists online ordering for pickup or delivery. Directory listing.
Dagmar West Village, 66 Jane Street
Opened in July 2026 on Jane Street, the second Manhattan address for the Dagmar name after its SoHo store on West Broadway. Directory listing. The West Village hub covers the shops around it.
Bellanova, 331 East Ninth Street, East Village
Opened in July 2026 between First and Second Avenues. EV Grieve, which caught the signage going up in April, describes a slim, bright room in blond wood, a focus on higher-end products, no guard at the door and an open invitation to dogs. Directory listing. Neighborhood context: East Village.
Buzzwick, 4930 Broadway, Inwood
Opened in July 2026 on Broadway near the top of Manhattan, one more licensed option for the neighborhood's Broadway strip. Directory listing. See also Inwood.
SOFACLUB Upper West, 2195 Broadway
Opened in August 2026 at 78th Street, the uptown follow-up to SOFACLUB's Avenue B store. Commercial Observer reported the ten-year lease in 2025. The shop's site lists licensed pickup and delivery. Its license, like Victory's, is a CAURD license. Directory listing.
Upscale Cannabis, 3042B Fenton Avenue, Bronx
Opened in August 2026 in the 10469 ZIP code of the northeast Bronx. OCM lists it as a minority-owned business. Directory listing.
The ISH, 51 Richmond Hill Road, Staten Island
Opened in September 2026 on Richmond Hill Road in the 10314 ZIP code, the newest operating licensed counter on the island. Directory listing.
Erbquest, 52 West 27th Street
Opened in October 2026 in NoMad, on the block of West 27th Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. It is the most recent opening in OCM's Manhattan data. Directory listing.
Licensed, not open yet
OCM's data lists several more addresses as licensed but not operating, so none should be treated as open: on Staten Island, Gaz Station on Targee Street, RUGULA.NYC on Richmond Road and Summit Cannabis Dispensary on Buel Avenue; in the Bronx, an address at 4101 Boston Road; and in Manhattan, The Yetti Club on First Avenue. Expect some to open over the winter, and check before going.
How to check that a shop is licensed
New York still has unlicensed shops that look the part. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov: every licensed dispensary posts a scannable verification sticker near its entrance, and OCM's location verification list names every licensed storefront. Adults 21+ only, with a valid photo ID. Purchase limits are three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrated cannabis. With edibles, read the milligrams per serving on the label: start low, go slow.
New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and that includes Central Park, across the street from one of them.
The full, current list lives in the dispensary directory, and the events calendar covers what is on around town.
FAQ
What new dispensaries opened in NYC in 2026?
Since May 2026, OCM's data shows new licensed storefronts including Victory Dispensary in the Bronx, Good Company, Tru Cannabis, Hibernica Central Park, Dagmar West Village, Bellanova, Buzzwick, SOFACLUB Upper West and Erbquest in Manhattan, Upscale Cannabis in the Bronx, and The ISH on Staten Island.
Is there a new dispensary on the Upper West Side?
Two: Good Company at 2273A Broadway opened in June 2026, and SOFACLUB Upper West at 2195 Broadway opened in August 2026.
Are there new dispensaries in the Bronx or on Staten Island?
Yes. Victory Dispensary in Throggs Neck opened in May 2026 and Upscale Cannabis on Fenton Avenue in August 2026. On Staten Island, The ISH on Richmond Hill Road opened in September 2026, with three more island addresses licensed but not yet operating.
How can I tell if a new NYC dispensary is legal?
Look for the OCM verification sticker near the door and scan its QR code, or check the shop against the list at cannabis.ny.gov. A shop that is missing from that list is not a licensed dispensary.
