Manhattan’s northernmost neighborhood, Inwood Hill Park’s old-growth forest, and a quiet cannabis scene riding the A train north.
Inwood is as close to a small town as Manhattan gets, Inwood Hill Park’s old-growth forest at the northern tip, a residential grid that feels uncrowded, and a food scene that punches above the neighborhood’s profile. Licensed dispensary coverage is still thinner here than further south, but the Washington Heights cluster is a short walk or one A-train stop away. The day that fits Inwood is residential and outdoor: a hike through the park, then dinner at a neighborhood spot on Dyckman. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces. 21+ only.
